Best Laid Plans…(I need your help!)

So, my last post was all full of enthusiasm about my goals for 2012 and how I was going to get stuff done and my life would be structured and all would be well in the world…

But like all best laid plans, this has kind of gone to pot.

In my (somewhat limited) defence, this wasn’t helped by a throat infection and a course of antibiotics (started with a nice fever which left me in bed whimpering pathetically!).

Kind of as the picture suggests, really.

Anyway, I know I’m a bit late with sharing this.  I wasn’t sure whether to or not as I’m still in the process of fleshing these out into specific tasks (& then diarising those tasks), so it may seem a bit woolly at the moment.

Firstly, I should confess:  I rarely make New Year’s Resolutions.  Actually, make that never.

For me, they always seem to be about giving something up, or some kind of deprivation, or some other negative connotation.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I hope wherever you are that you’ve had a great time celebrating and seeing in the New Year.

For me in the UK, that will be in a few hours’ time.

I’m having a quiet one this year; last year my boyfriend and I went to a party dressed as Morticia & Gomez Addams (from The Addams Family) – I know, not much of a stretch for me to dress up as a gothic witch! But it was a great night & we didn’t get home till gone 6am.

When In Rome…(for the second time)

Hey everyone,

I’m busy fighting with Photoshop and planning my next couple of videos & blog posts as well as creating my Facebook fan page, but in the meantime I thought I’d share my second Rome adventure with you all.

If you haven’t see my post from my first adventure, it’s here: Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day

Oh, and in fact this second visit coincided with my first anniversary with Chris – you can see my ridiculously personal post about that here: Sometimes You Should Just Take A Chance.

Sometimes you should just take a chance…

[Warning - this is a very personal post so if you're not interested in that sort of thing or you have an aversion to a very rare moment of niceness from me, then don't read this!!]

Ok, so now you’re either reading out of curiosity or because you are genuinely interested in my life. Whichever it is, please respect that this is a personal post.

Normal service will resume after this post.

…………………………………….

The reason for this post is simple – today (4th October 2011) marks my first anniversary with my boyfriend Chris.

Oh. My. God…. I’ve WON!!

No, not the Euromillions (as I type, there’s someone in the UK with the winning ticket of something like £166million), or the Lotto, or anything boring like that…

…I’ve won something FAR more exciting!

Wait for it…

…drum roll….

…yes, I’m going to keep you in suspense that little bit longer…

….*drinks tea*…..

…..*makes a list*…..

Oh, all right then….

I’ve won a free place on Sally Neill’s coaching prog!

Rome wasn’t built in a day…

…and the 10 days that I’ve just spent there weren’t enough to fully do it justice either, but we made the most of our time there and saw a lot of the main sites and attractions.

For those of you that are connected with me on Facebook, you’ll have seen daily updates from me while we were out there.  For those of you that weren’t, or just can’t get enough of me talking about my holiday, then here’s the breakdown of what went on.

A question, an update, and an ongoing tea obsession

Now, just because my title is in that order, it doesn’t mean that this post will be in the same order…because that would be logical, and sensible, and all manner of things that I am not.

Firstly, I shall start with my tea obsession.  It will come as no surprise to you that I am currently drinking tea while writing this post.  I have bought a travel kettle to take to Rome* with me and I shall be taking teabags with me.  I learned the hard way from my Vegas experience (no kettles in the hotel rooms, so the vast majority of my spending money went on buying cups of tea).  So I’m not making that mistake again!

Things for which I am grateful…

Ok, so I know I promised you a more normal post this time (well, whatever ‘normal’ is where I’m concerned), but instead this is a bit of a personal one.

I’m currently sitting in bed sweating out some sort of virus – it started as a cold and then progressed to being hot & feverish, which has meant that my bed has turned into a swamp.  Beyond disgusting, I know, but I need you to feel my pain.  Well, actually I don’t, but I’m so fed up with being ill that I’m now starting to make a performance about it (and am annoying myself in the process).

Written in the stars; a million miles away…

Hey everyone,

How was your Halloween?  Yet again I’ve been terrible about updating my blog.  I’ve had a post partially written for ages now, but because I need to do some screenshots to explain what I’m talking about (don’t worry, all will become clear), I just haven’t done it.

Here in the UK the clocks went back yesterday, so the onset of winter is officially upon us.  I went shopping over the weekend (yes, I know, not surprising for those of you that know me!) and the shops are all full of Christmas stuff.  Now, I don’t particularly enjoy Christmas – I am the world’s worst present-buyer, so for me it just induces unnecessary stress.  I mean well, but I just don’t seem to get it right (unless of course I’m buying for myself, and then of course I’m spot on!).
