The Revamp of NikkiStephens dot com

The revamp of www.NikkiStephens.com

You may have  noticed things are looking a little different around here.

That’s because I have completely redesigned this website, even down to paying for a theme! My previous theme was not sufficiently mobile-responsive for Google, plus it was in need of an overhaul anyway.

For my own amusement, this is how this site has looked over the past 7 or so years:

The blog history

Note a recurring theme of purple?!

Up until this reincarnation, my site title & strapline was “Nikki’s Search For Freedom: join me as I build my own online business”

The Return of the Purple Minxy Witch!

I'm back Purple Minxy WitchWell, when I say return, it isn’t that I’ve actually gone anywhere; more that I just haven’t been blogging over here for a while.

What have I been doing you may ask?

Well, I’ve been busy working on my new website www.OrganisedGoddess.com where I share tips & tricks to help you live a happier, more organised life.  Plus I’ve created various free downloads over there, and my first ecourse!  So that’s been keeping me rather occupied.

However, this won’t do, as I’m still learning about and creating my online business, and that was the purpose of this blog – to share my journey with you.

Do you love LIVE events?

I have a confession of sorts.

It’s been a while since I’ve attended any kind of live internet marketing event.  In fact, the last one I appeared at was a couple of years ago, in Bristol (where I live at the moment).  I went to catch up with one of my friends there, and ended up staying in the bar till about 6am!  (I was drinking tea rather than alcohol as I was driving.)

Anyway, I digress.  What was I talking about?

Oh yes.

Oh how I love a challenge!

Do you like a challenge as well?

Then this could be for you.

Barry (at www.Barry-Wells.com) has come up with a Leap Year Video Challenge, and it’s something that I’m most certainly going to be partaking in.

You’ll have seen from my last post that I was having a bit of a ‘meh’ moment about what I’m doing (or more appropriately, not doing), and so this challenge has come along at the perfect time for me.

Oh, and did I mention he’s giving away prizes as well?!

OMG The Posh Girl Speaks!

I wasn’t sure whether I’d ever do this…but I’ve recorded my first ever video tutorial! This has been my first time using Camtasia and also my first time recording myself doing anything on my laptop, so while I apologise if it’s a bit rough around the edges, please bear in mind it’s my first time!

The Glamorous World of Webinars

Today was Sally’s first tutorial webinar as part of her Learn With Sally coaching.  I couldn’t make the introductory webinar the week before, so I was adamant that nothing would stop me attending this one (not even plagues, pestilence, or floods).

Facebook trademark – potential infringement?

Hey,

I’m busy creating the world’s longest blog post on my holiday to Rome (look, I know you’re interested really!).  But in the meantime, I thought I’d share this email that I got yesterday as it may affect you.

To Whom It May Concern,

The Purple Minxy Witch – unveiled before your very eyes!

Hello!

Wow, what a long time since I last wrote a blog post here!  Almost scandalous in fact.

Anyway, I’ve had a couple of blog posts in mind to share with you, so don’t be surprised if this suddenly becomes like the bus analogy here (you know, the “you wait for ages for a bus & then 3 come along at once” one).  Of course, I don’t wait for buses, I either drive or fly on my broomstick.

That rather neatly brings me on to the point of this post.

I have now been immortalised in cartoon form!

How much is too much?

It’s a question I probably should ask in many different areas of my life.

However, in this instance, I want to talk about communication, and specifically that of the emailing-your-list variety.

If you have a list, how often do you email them? Is it just me that gets fed up with emails every day from the same people trying to sell things to me? Even if, in some cases, it’s a freebie that they’re offering – is it *really* relevant to me and my life? Or am I just being sent things as an attempt at building the list, or adswapping, or selling me some sort of affiliate product?

Viva Las Vegas

Pheww….

I’m back in the UK, sitting on my sofa with a cup of tea & some toast with peanut butter (yes, I know, I’m so English!).

I slept for about 18 hours straight when I got back home, but then I was up for about 34 hours prior to that – so I guess it figures really. It’s strange, I woke up in Las Vegas but went to sleep back in the UK. It’s amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it really.
