Thunderbirds Are Go! Social Networking Sites Explained is now live and kicking!

Wow. Today has been a steep learning curve for me, but hey, I got
there in the end! Admittedly I did have to shout for help, but then
that’s one of the benefits of building good relationships with experts
- it means I can go picking their brains!

So, what have I been doing? I’ve been preparing the launch of my book Social Networking Sites Explained.

I’ve fought with Aweber and Filezilla, and managed to get there in the end (Aweber was doing strange things with formatting, and Filezilla refused to connect to the server).

Nearly had to get the whip out!

Still, disciplining others is one of my favourite ways of spending my time.

Before I take this post right into the gutter, allow me to give you the opportunity to sign up for your own copy of my book - not autographed I’m afraid, although perhaps that’s a thought for next time.

………………………………………………….

………………………………………………….

Once you’ve had a chance to look at this book, I would appreciate it
if you would leave me some feedback on it below.

On that note, I’m off for a well-deserved cup of tea (like I need an
excuse!).

Until next time,

Nikki

    Wow Nikki,

I feel like a proud mama - once again, AJ’s students keep coming up with great stuff!

I knew you would do a great job, you have an excellent style of writing and know a thing or two about social media by the look of your great ebook.

First one of many, I am sure.

I’ve already printed the guide and the table to fill in with my log-in info. Very useful indeed.

I haven’t read the book as yet but will soon, cause the timing coudn’t be any better for me.

Trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together when launching anything online is a
mamooth job and I for one get very confused as to how to use social media.

I have just about kind of cracked tweeter and have even left that one to one side to concentrate in creating all my products in order to launch my site.

As I said it. REALLY proud of you man!

Well done and well put together. Another star for our friend Michael Ottman as well.

Anyway see at the top my friend. I just wanted to leave you a quick enthusiastic cheers to you!

    Lot’s of love,

    Sandra

    Hi Nikki

Well you launched this and I didn’t even notice - sorry! I haven’t been in my usual routine during the school holidays and have had to limit my computer time to try to get other things done.

I’ve just downloaded the ebook and had a quick look through it. I didn’t realise that there were so many different sites! I don’t think that I will be subscribing to them all but I’ll try to catch up on a few more of them soon. I’ll have a good read through later and let you have further feedback on it. It seems to be something that I think would be useful for people doing an eskills for elearning course I did in the spring and I know that they are doing another one now so I shall pass on the link to the tutor for you.

I have been busy doing my own work and hopefully the ebook on Allowances for children, for which I wrote a chapter will be out very soon. I’ve just proofed my chapter so I’ll let you know when it is ready.

Anyway, I must hit the sack now. Speak soon.

    Hilary

  3. Nikki Says:

    Hey Sandra,

Thank you! That’s very kind of you to say so, and I hope that you find it a useful resource. Yep, Mike (Ottman) did all the graphics for me so that’s why it looks good! Let me know how you get on once you’ve had a chance to use the book, I’d love to have your feedback on it.
    …………………….

    Hi Hils,,

Nice to see you over here - did you have a good summer? Thank you for passing the link on to the tutor for the eskills for elearning course, much appreciated. Yes, please do let me know when the book is out, I’d be interested to see it.

  4. Renee Olson Says:

    Hey Nikki,

Your timing couldn’t be any better for me. Today is my first day back on the computer after summer break. (which I needed) Amazing things happen when you take a break! I finally found a product line that I can work with and even better, your ebook will get me rollin’.

My (new)site’s not working today, but I sent an email to Linda. So maybe in a couple of days, I’ll be back in business.

I am Sooo excited for you! I did have to dig a little to get to your blog because I originally came to your ebook from Gary’s site. Once I arrvived, I didn’t see the link to the blog to comment. But I found you…

    It’s good to be back:)

    Renee

  5. marcus passey Says:

    Hey Nikki

Wow first of all I love the graphics, is this your first book you have created?

I still cant find a good enough idea for my book yet.

Well I will download it and get back to you with some cool comments.

    cheers nikki speak soon

    Marcus

  6. Nikki Says:

    Hi Renee,

Long time no see! Having the summer away from the computer does sound rather appealing. Today it’s really sunny here (just for once - sunshine doesn’t appear in the UK very often) so I want to be outside making the most of it rather than being in an office. My time will come!

Looking forward to seeing your new site, will you pop back to let us know when it’s all up & running? Then I can fly over to have a look around.

I’ve edited my home page slightly now - hopefully it will make it a little easier for those that navigate there to find the blog and / or the link to Social Networking Sites Explained

Thanks for popping over to the Lair, I did wonder why I hadn’t seen you around for ages!

    ………………..

    Hey Marcus,

Yep, the graphics are amazing aren’t they! I wish I could take the credit but actually it’s all down to Michael Ottman - he is a creative genius!

Please let me know what you think of the book once you’ve had a look at it - I’d appreciate your feedback.

    ……………………………..

Thanks to you both for your comments.

  7. Thomas Skavhellen Says:

    Hi Nikki!

I Just wanted to let you know that I just opted in for your Free E-book. And here is my first tip.
I noticed that on your download page I downloaded the book in a .zip file. Now I’m a very tech savvy guy, but for people that are not you should probably provide some kind of information on how they should unzip their e-book with a link to software for doing this.

Just my 2 cents.. Looking forward to get started on your book now.

    Regards
    Thomas Skavhellen

  8. Paul Lear Says:

    Hey Nikki,

Great to see you’ve got your first eBook out there!

You’ve chosen a good subject, and the graphics are stunning. You really really like purple, don’t you. :)

I think I’ll go grab my copy now!

    Speak to you soon.

    Paul.

  9. Nikki Says:

    Hi Thomas,

That’s a good point, and obviously one I hadn’t considered. I should also add something about Adobe PDF software as well as the book itself is a PDF file, so thank you for raising that one.

    Hi Paul,

Hmm, what on earth gave you the impression that I like purple I wonder…!! Yes, you’re right, purple is my signature colour both offline and online.

Let me know what you think of the book once you’ve had a chance to go through it.

    ……………………

Thanks to you both for your comments!

Full of great content in one place, hard to believe this is your first eBook!

  13. Gary Simpson Says:

    Nix,

How come I didn’t see this post of yours? Too wrapped up in putting spa videos up, I guess.

    Well done on the book.

Gee, it is VERY purple in the LAIR, isn’t it? Very purple indeed. Purple… everything, book included.

Well Lady Penelope, Brains must go now.

  15. Vance Sova Says:

    Hi Nikki,

The e-book cover looks great and purple like everything on your blog.

I’ve downloaded it and will let you know how I like the inside of it after reading it.

I must warn you though, it may take me a while to read it. There are loads of things that I have to read. But I’ll get to it eventually.

I hope that you are doing great.

I know about you thanks to GazzMan. I’ve seen a lot of your comments on his blog.

  16. Gil Says:

Alex Jeffreys students have come to save me as well.
My saga is still not over, and I hit a wall with clickbank not 12 hours before the launch of my kick ass twitter product.

    I damn nearly broke down.

After all the hard work you put into creating a software that actually works (we’re talking months here) to have clickbank refuse your product 12 hours before launch when everything else is ready… I didn’t know what to do.

But a few short hours later, massive support came form fellow students. And Rob Canyon is helping me out of this situation.
It’s still not over, but the support is phenomenal
